CPR TRAINING


You can never be over prepared when it comes to providing emergency assistance during a cardiac arrest. The HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to recognise when someone is unconscious and not breathing and the steps needed to give them the best chance of survival until help arrives.


Training involves approx. 2.5 hours self-paced online training and theory assessment questions (must be completed before face to face session) and 1 hour face to face training and assessment time.


With successful completion of both the online and face to face components participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Training and Assessment of this course is delivered by Resus Ready First Aid Training on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO#90909.

About your trainer... 

Karena is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Intensive Care Nurse at a major metropolitan ICU in Melbourne. She has completed her Bachelor of Nursing and Post Graduate Dipolma in Critical Care. She has 13 years experience caring for critically ill patients in one of Melbourne’s busiest ICU’s. She has lead resuscitation emergency events and performed CPR on patients numerous times throughout her career. Karena has trained nurses and junior medical doctors in safely transporting critically ill patients and developed guidelines around safer patient transport within the hospital.


Karena is passionate about health and education and wants to use her skills to help the wider community. Her training sessions are engaging and her clients leave her classes feeling better equipped to handle emergency situations.


Karena attended MBB 2018 as a participant in one of our bike weekend packages and now returns annually as part of the MBB Team!

COVID Safety

Resus Ready First Aid Training uses COVID Safety practices. On the day of our face-to-face session, if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, fever, cough or sore throat or if you are currently waiting on your results of a COVID screen test or tested COVID positive then please notify me and do not attend the session. We can organise a time to reschedule. Safety first!


Please bring your own face mask which must be worn during our session. Hand sanitizer and gloves will be provided for the physical components. Each participant will be provided with their own manikins and training equipment and there will be no face-to-manikin breathing during the CPR component due to COVID. Social distancing will also be maintained during the session. If you have any questions about this please let me know.

Cancellation policy:

Bookings close for MBB on Friday 12 February 2021. If you cancel after this time and we are unable to fill your spot, there will be a fee charged to cover workshop expenses and accommodation costs (20% fee within two weeks, higher if within one week). If for any reason the event needs to be cancelled prior to this window, a full refund will apply to participants.
