  • Product code: ART THERAPY

ARTS-BASED EXPRESSION FOR WOMEN'S WELL-BEING

Inquire into your relationship with nature using arts-based and creative processes. This could relate to mountain biking, bushwalking or any focused or incidental time you spend outdoors.

Represent your experiences and explore what you value about being in nature. Celebrate the lessons learnt in nature and consider how these might be integrated into daily life. Set intentions and reflect on what's important for you on your journey.

This process will include art making providing the opportunity to express without words. Further processes will involve sharing and inquiring into the meaning represented in the art made. In the group space, participants can reflect on both individual and shared experiences. Through working together creatively and intentionally as women we can build ourselves up, to live the lives we want to live.

No art experience necessary.

Art making is used as a form of expression rather than to create an end-product.

SESSION TIME

Sunday 19 February, 10am - 12pm

About your facilitator, Natalya Garden:

Creative Arts Therapist (PACFA Clinical member) and PMBIA level 1 Instructor. Living on Dja Dja Wurrung country, born and raised on the lands of the Turrbal, Jagera and Kabi Kabi people.

Natalya has extensive experience in supporting women to utilise their own resilience, strength and values through creative arts therapy and inquiry. She has a decade worth of experience working in community and family violence organisations with women and children who have been oppressed. Her personal experience of living through the aftermath of the Black Saturday Bushfires motivated her to leave her work in the bicycle and outdoor industry, and learn ways to integrate her passion for art and well-being. She has now come full circle, by incorporating both the arts and the outdoors in her practice - to utilise the benefits for those seeking to both heal and flourish in their lives.

As a MTB guide and instructor, she supports girls and women to develop confidence in their riding and be empowered. She celebrates and promotes the concept of women supporting women. The arts have been integral to her own well-being since the day she started to make markings as a child. Her current art practice focuses on nature, women's empowerment and mountain biking.
